New York, 5 June 2017. At the third and last session of the open-ended working group on the fourth special session of the General Assembly devoted to disarmament, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Ana Silvia Rodríguez Abascal, made reference to the active work of the Cuban nation, not only in its national capacity but also within the Non-Aligned Movement, to convene a fourth special session of the General Assembly devoted to disarmament.

Cuba extended its most heartfelt condolences on the sudden and unfortunate loss of Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin, at the segment of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), of the 2017 Annual Session of the Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS. Hence, the Caribbean nation joined the statement made by GRULAC and that of the other Regional Representatives in such homage.
