Cuban Solidarity Shines in Warwick
On March 15, the Cuban spirit of solidarity and resilience was celebrated at the Cuba Vive Medical Appeal event held at Warwick. Organized by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and supported by the National Education Union (NEU), the evening brought together friends of Cuba to raise funds for vital medical supplies, while enjoying a vibrant night of music and shared purpose.
The Cuban Embassy was proudly represented by Press Counsellor Orestes Martínez García, who conveyed the Ambassador’s gratitude to the organizers and participants for their unwavering support.

The second edition of the Screen Cuba festival will be held from 16-29 March 2025 in the UK, extending its reach to more cities and prestigious cinemas in London. With a diverse selection of films, from classics to recent productions, the event aims to promote Cuban cinema and generate a space for cultural exchange.

On March 13, 2025, Her Excellency Mrs. Ismara Mercedes Vargas Walter, Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and First Secretary Mr. Pablo Arturo Ginarte Sampedro undertook a working visit to Oxford, organized by the Oxford Cuba Solidarity Campaign (CSC) and the National Education Union, Oxfordshire. The visit facilitated meaningful exchanges with students, academics, trade unionists, and supporters of Cuba.
Cuba strengthens ties during LATAM event in UK
Tuesday, 11 March:- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the United Kingdom, Ismara Vargas Walter, and Counsellor Mayté Suárez Rueda attended a reception organised by the Latin American Travel Association (LATAM) on 11 March. The event took place in response to an invitation from British MP Fabian Hamilton MP and brought together representatives of the tourism sector interested in strengthening ties with the region.
