Cuba and the United Kingdom explore opportunities for economic and commercial cooperation
Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the United Kingdom met with representatives of the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade (DBT) on 10 April. The meeting was part of efforts to identify new areas of bilateral and regional cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed trade and investment opportunities with Cuba. The Cuban side was represented by the press adviser, Orestes Martínez, and the first secretary for economic and commercial affairs, Soima Méndez.
Cuba and UK strengthen tourism links in the nautical and diving sector
Representatives of Marlin S.A. and the AZULMAR International Diving Centre visited the UK for fruitful working days, which included meetings with tour operators, diving clubs and the organisation Iniciativa Cuba.
The Cuban Embassy in the United Kingdom received José Ramiro Mas Camacho, Senior Business Specialist at the Cuban company Marinas y Náuticas Marlin S.A., and Noel Enríquez López Fernández, Head of the AZULMAR International Diving Centre, located in Jardines de la Reina, one of the island's surrounding archipelagos.
Cuba Defends International Medical Cooperation Against US Attacks
In an online conference titled "Defending Cuban Medical Missions Against Marco Rubio’s Lies", Ambassador Ismara Mercedes Vargas Walter highlighted the importance of Cuba’s medical brigades and denounced Washington’s attempts to discredit them.
During her speech at the Caribbean Labour Solidarity (CLS) April meeting, Ambassador Vargas Walter reaffirmed Cuba’s unwavering commitment to global medical solidarity. She emphasized that Cuban doctors have provided healthcare in over 50 countries, saving millions of lives and bringing essential medical services to communities in need.
