Vincentian Foreign Ministry reiterates its unconditional support for Cuba.

Kingstown, 27 September 2024 - The Director General of the Vincentian Foreign Ministry, Dr. Tamira Browne, expressed today that Cuba will be able to continue counting on the unconditional support of the government and people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

This statement was made during a courtesy call by ICAP official, Tamara Armenteros Alcee, who is visiting the Caribbean nation on a working trip.

Armenteros Alcee thanked the Vincentian government for the sincere accompaniment and the historic principled position of the prime minister, Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, regarding the struggle against the US blockade and the urgent need to remove Cuba from the spurious list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

The ICAP official visiting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tamara Armenteros Alcee, had a special moment with members of the Cuban Medical Brigade that work in this sister nation, in which she gave an update on the current situation of Cuba, shared elements on the objectives of her working program and encouraged our collaborators to work diligently on the assigned tasks.

ICAP official gives interview to NBC Radio.

Kingstown, 26 September 2024. - Tamara Armenteros Alcee, an official of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), was interviewed by National Broadcasting Radio (NBC), the national radio station of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as part of her working visit to this Caribbean nation.

Armenteros Alcee, who was accompanied by the Cuban ambassador, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, greeted the radio listeners of the popular station, explained the objectives of her visit and spoke at length about the impact on the Cuban people of the intensification of the US economic, commercial and financial embargo. Both officials also explained the repercussions on Cuba, for being included on the spurious list of States Sponsors of Terrorism, which was unilaterally created by the US Department of State.

Cuba and SVG explore possibilities of cooperation in tourism.

Kingstown, September 25, 2024. - Cuban ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, received Ms. Annette Mark, Chief Executive Officer of the National Tourism Authority in this country, where the wide scope for bilateral cooperation in this field was discussed.

Mrs. Mark gave an update on the latest news related to the development of tourism in St. Vincent, which is opening new hotels and new air routes from and to various destinations, and mentioned the purpose of taking back Cuba among them. The ambassador noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the tourism ministries of both nations offers multiple options to drive joint projects.  

Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have great potential in the area of tourism, given the beauty of their natural landscapes, the cultural richness of their heritage and the hospitality of their peoples.

Cuban Ambassador pays courtesy call to Vincentian lawyer and politician.

Kingstown, 24 September 2024. - The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry, payed a courtesy call to the prominent Vincentian lawyer and politician, Luke Browne, where both sides had the opportunity of discussing issues of bilateral, regional and international interest, such as the US embargo against Cuba.

Mr. Browne, who was Minister of Health between 2015 and 2020, expressed his admiration and respect for the Cuban Revolution and thanked Cuba for its solidarity throughout these 32 years of diplomatic relations, which is mainly expressed in a sustained health and other kind of collaboration projects.

The Cuban diplomat reiterated the will and determination of the Cuban government to continue expanding this cooperation, which is increasingly diversified.
