Athens, 13 December. The mayor of the city of Kalamata Athanasios P. Vasilopoulos, received the ambassador of Cuba to Greece Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina and the councillor José Oriol Marrero Martínez. The mayor was accompanied by several deputy mayors and members of the municipal council. Friends from Cuba of the Cuban Hellenic Association of Friendship in Kalamata were also present.

An event of Solidarity with Cuba was held and condemning the unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the Caribbean island in the cinema theater Studio, of the company New Star from Velisarios Kossivakis, organized by the Cuban Hellenic Association of Friendship, with the support of friend Velisarios and his Cuban wife resident in Greece Leticia Suarez. The floor was taken by the Ambassador of Cuba Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina, and the president of the Association Nikos Karandreas. A poet friend of Cuba said his poem about Che and the Cuban revolution, and a documentary was screened about the victory in Playa Girón against imperialism.
The most recent events in the region confirm that the US government and the reactionary oligarchies bear the primary responsibility for the dangerous unrest and political and social instability that broke out in Latin America and the Caribbean.
