Cuba-Norway cooperation in the field of sport bears fruit

Oslo, February 8, 2023. On February 5, Cuban wrestler of Greco-Roman style Oscar Pino Hinds, 130 kg, won the gold medal at the first Ranking Series of Wrestling, that took place in Zagreb, Croatia.

The three-time world medalist won 7-1 in the title match against Oskar Marvik, an old acquaintance with whom Pino has shared several training sessions in Oslo. The Norwegian managed to score the only point against the Cuban athlete in the tournament.

Norwegian newspaper Friheten will be present at the First International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements, in Havana

Oslo, February 8, 2023. The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, received Odd-Jarl Gerhardsen, editor-in-chief of "Friheten", the newspaper of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), who is leaving shortly for Cuba to attend the First International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements, which will be held in Havana from February 10 to 12.

The Cuban diplomat thanked Gerhardsen for the interest shown by him and his newspaper in the event and wished him a successful and fruitful participation in it.

Ambassador of Cuba to Norway visits TravelXpo Fair 2023

Members of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, Bolivarian circles, the Norwegian Communist Party (NKP) and trade union organizations; diplomats from the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela; resident Latin Americans residents in Norway, including Cubans, and friends in general, joined the staff of the Embassy for the commemoration.

Oustanding Cuban sports figures training in Oslo

Oslo, January 11, 2023. In the early hours of January 10th, a Cuban high-level delegation of Greco-Roman Wrestling arrived in Oslo, made up of the renowned trainer Raúl Trujillo Díaz and the athletes Luis Alberto Orta Sánchez (67 Kg) and Oscar Pino Hinds (130 kg).

During their stay, which will last until the 18th, they will carry out training sessions for the Wrestling Grand Prix, which will take place from 20 to 22 in Nice, France, and the First Ranking Series, to be held from 1 to 5 February, in Zagreb, Croatia.
