Nkosinathi “Nathi” Mthetwa and the Cuban Ambassador to South Africa, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, signed today an important Intergovernmental Agreement for Cooperation and Cultural Exchange between both countries

Cuba participates in change of command of the National Defense Forces of South Africa

Pretoria, June 7, 2021.- Cuba participated as a Special Guest Country in the ceremony and military parade on the occasion of the change of command of the South African National Defense Forces, events that were chaired by the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the South African Armed Forces, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson exchanged on the day with the outgoing Chief, General Solly Shoke, who went into retirement after an outstanding job, for more than 10 years, at the head of the country's armed forces.

Cubans in South Africa demand once again for the end of the blockade against Cuba

Pretoria, May 30, 2021.- Gathered in the place that pays tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, the Cubans in South Africa met again today to demand the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

On this occasion there was a march and a cultural event that included, as a special element, the tribute to José Martí whose patriotic, humanist and anti-imperialist thought constitutes a source of inspiration and guide for all Cubans.

Cuba celebrates the 58th anniversary of Africa Day

Pretoria, May 25, 2021- Cuba's fraternal ties with Africa are part of our history, grounded in deep cultural and historical roots. There are many reasons to join in the commemoration of Africa Day this May 25.

The presence on our Island of almost 1,300,000 Africans of more than 200 ethnic groups, as a result of the cruel slave trade, forever marked the history, customs, tastes, beliefs and traditions of our nation.

Africa is part of the very essence of our Homeland. As Commander in Chief Fidel Castro said, Cuba is a Latin African people.
