Cuban present at Tshwane District Congress of the SACP

Pretoria, June 29, 2026. —Embassy officials participated in the 5th congress of the Tshwane District of the South African Communist Party (SACP). The Cuban delegation delivered a message to the South African communists, while reaffirming its intention to continue strengthening party ties. The South African Communists reiterated their stance against domination and hegemony. They also emphasized their unwavering solidarity with Cuba.

Fruitful Meeting with South African DIRCO representative.

Pretoria, June 24, 2026. —Ambassador Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo was received by Ambassador Xolisa Mabhongo, Deputy Director-General in charge of Global Governance and the Continental Agenda at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa (DIRCO). The meeting was of vital importance for reviewing bilateral and multilateral issues between Cuba and South Africa. The Cuban Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the African country’s historic stance in the fight against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on our country.

“Cuba after Castro” documentary premieres in Johannesburg.

Johannesburg, 20 June 2026 — The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in South Africa, in collaboration with various solidarity organisations, presented the BreakThrough News documentary “Cuba after Castro” at The Forge (Johannesburg). The event was attended by more than 70 people and was received with great interest by the local community and representatives of solidarity organisations.The screening  was followed by a wide-ranging debate on the true reality of Cuba, during which claims and prejudices spread by distorted media coverage against our country were debunked.

A parliamentary motion was presented in South Africa against the US Blockade

Pretoria, 15 June 2026. —MP Benson Ngqentsu, presented at the Western Cape Provincial Legislature, a motion condemning, in the strongest terms, the US economic blockade against Cuba and the baseless accusations against the leader of the Revolution, Raúl Castro Ruz. Cuba is grateful for this gesture of fraternal solidarity. It reiterates that both the island and South Africa are two nations that will never surrender their sovereignty.
