South African Parliament convened a dialogue on Cuba-SA relations

Cape Town, 12 August 2026. — The Cuban Ambassador, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, took part in an event held at the South African Parliament to examine the history, current state and future prospects of relations between Cuba and South Africa. The dialogue provided an opportunity to explore the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including health, education, biotechnology, human resources development and parliamentary diplomacy. In this context, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to seizing current opportunities to translate their historic friendship into new projects and concrete results.

Dancers from Cuba dazzle in Pretoria.

Pretoria, 1 August 2026. — The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in South Africa enthusiastically celebrates the successful special performance by Cuban dancers Greisell Lastre, Joan Manuel Riera and Ariel Mejica, who showcased the extraordinary standard of the Cuban ballet school at an event held in Pretoria. We would like to highlight that this performance forms part of a wider tour, which includes the 13th South African International Ballet Competition to be held in Cape Town.
