Pretoria, 20 March 2026. – Provincial coordinators of the Cuban medical brigade in South Africa held their annual meeting. The event was attended by the Cuban Ambassador, Fakri Rodríguez, who highlighted the important role played by Cuban medical personnel in strengthening the South African healthcare system. Since 1996, Cuba and South Africa have continuously strengthened their collaboration in the field of health, reflecting the close ties and brotherhood that characterize relations between the two peoples.

African Political Parties Reaffirm Solidarity with Cuba

Pretoria, March 13, 2026.—Around 28 African political parties and progressive organizations signed a strong declaration of solidarity with the people and government of Cuba in response to recent threats and acts of aggression by the United States against the island. The Cuban ambassador expressed our people’s gratitude to our African brothers and sisters for always standing by Cuba.

The Book “Tricontinental, Havana 1966” launched in South Africa

Johannesburg, March 5, 2026.—Cuba’s ambassador to South Africa, Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, accompanied by other officials from the diplomatic mission, participated in the launch of the book “Tricontinental, Havana 1966,” which took place at The Forge, in the heart of the South African city. The General Secretary of the South African Communist Party, Solly Mapaila, as well as the former Minister of Intelligence and great friend of Cuba, Ronnie Kasrils, were also present.
