Information note on measures taken by Cuban Consulates due to the spread of Covid-19

Havana, March 19, 2020.- Given the serious international epidemiological situation due to the high level of spread of the new Coronavirus (SARS CoV 2 / Covid-19), and its accelerated expansion, the Cuban Consulates abroad have adopted measures, aimed at protecting Cuban nationals who request services and Cuban officials who work in our country's consular offices abroad from possible contagion. Temporarily, the following measures will come into effect from this Thursday, March 19:

Excellencies:

We thank Mexico, President Pro Tempore of CELAC, for convening this meeting to discuss the necessary regional response to COVID-19, a disease that has quickly become a threat to all of our peoples.

We are pleased that the Pan American Health Organization is joining us in this regard.

We also thank the authorities of the People's Republic of China for sharing their best practices, as a reliable example of the cooperation that has distinguished the CELAC-China Forum.
