The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has learned, with deep concern, about the judgment delivered by a judge of the Court of the District of Columbia in the United States on May 1st, 2024, who acquitted Alexander Alazo Baró of the four charges he faced as a result of the terrorist attack he had perpetrated against the Cuban Embassy to the United States during the early hours of morning of April 30, 2020, claiming the insanity of the perpetrator.
Port of Spain, May 2, 2024. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Gustavo Veliz Olivares, presented his Credentials to the President of Trinidad and Tobago, Christine Carla Kangaloo, who welcomed him to the country.
During the dialogue, they highlighted the beginning of bilateral relations between both countries, classified as historic, since Trinidad and Tobago was one of the first Caribbean countries to establish ties with Cuba. The exchange was characterized by affection and formality.
Enforcement of the U.S. blockade in Argentina forces Cubana de Aviación to suspend flights
In March 2024, the company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales S.A. (YPF) of the Republic of Argentina informed the airline Cubana de Aviación of its refusal to continue supplying fuel to its aircrafts, in application of the United States blockade against Cuba.
