On the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Trinidad and Tobago and CARICOM-Cuba Day, Cuban Ambassador Gustavo Veliz Olivares was interviewed on Trinidad and Tobago's state television, known as TTT, according to its English acronym.

Coinciding with the International Day for the Fight against HIV/AIDS and on the eve of Latin American Medicine Day, members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Trinidad and Tobago held their XIX Scientific Conference. During the presentations, participants discussed and exchanged insights on various medical cases and practices, according to each presenter’s specialty. The professionalism and prior experience of each collaborator were evident throughout the event.

Scarborough, November 7, 2024. From November 7 to 8, the Cuban Ambassador, Gustavo Véliz Olivares, visited Tobago. As part of his program on the neighboring island, he held meetings with directors of the Scarborough General Hospital, the Hemodialysis Service at the Health Center in the island's capital, and the hospital in the Roxborough region—all facilities where Cuban collaborators provide services.

The Minister of Health, the Honorable Terrance Deyalsingh, Member of Parliament for the St. Joseph constituency, signed the extension of the Agreement for Technical Cooperation in Health alongside the Cuban Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Gustavo Veliz Olivares.
