Minister of Education received the Cuban Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, August 29th, 2024. Cuban Ambassador in Trinidad and Tobago, H. E. Gustavo Veliz Olivares, was received by the Honorable Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Education. The dialogue took place in a cordial and positive atmosphere, reflecting the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. The diplomat extended an invitation to the Minister to attend the International Congress "Pedagogy 2025," to be held from February 10 to 13 of next year in Havana.

Cuban Ambassador participated at Opening of Agri-Expo 2024 Fair

Port of Spain, August 16th, 2024. Cuban Ambassador Gustavo Veliz Olivares participated at the ceremony of the “Agri-Expo 2024” Fair, held at the “Queen Park Savannah” in Port of Spain. The event,  that will run until August 18, promote the potential of the Trinidad and Tobago in that area.

The Ambassador exchanged greetings with Dr. Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. They advocated for the expansion of bilateral ties between the two countries.

Statement by 123 countries demanding the exclusion of Cuba from the Unilateral List of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism

Geneva, June 26th, 2024

The List of States Allegedly Sponsoring Terrorism goes against the fundamental principles and peremptory norms of international law, including international solidarity. The process through which the designation is made is unclear and non-transparent.

It negatively affects the realization and enjoyment of fundamental human rights, including the rights to food, health, education, economic and social rights, the right to life and right to development.
