The Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ismara Vargas Walter, held a fruitful meeting with the Executive Director of the International Grains Council (IGC), Arnaud Petit, at the organisation's headquarters. At the office of Attorney General of Grenada and Minister for Legal Affairs, Labour and Consumer Affairs, Senator the Honourable Claudette, along with Permanent Secretary Rhonda Jones, received Cuban Ambassador Ivette Martínez Leyva. In a friendly meeting, they discussed topics related to work permit procedures for Cuban residents on the island and legal issues arising from noncompliance with Grenada's immigration policy.
Kingston, 12 June 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, received Dr Kevin Brown, President of the University of Technology, Jamaica, at the embassy headquarters.
During the exchange, the parties recognised the ties that unite Cuba and Jamaica in the field of education and the need to continue fostering bilateral links for human resources training. They also discussed possible areas of collaboration between the Jamaican institution and its Cuban counterparts, with a special emphasis on the sciences, health, and computing.
