Vietnam–Cuba Friendship Association sent out a letter calls for donations to Cuban people 

The Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association (VCFA) on August 17 sent out a letter calling for donations to Cuban people to help them overcome current difficulties.

The letter said the fraternal Cuban country and people are struggling against countless difficulties and challenges as they continue to be under a strict embargo amid COVID-19 pandemic, especially a recent oil storage facility fire incident at an industrial zone near Matanzas that seriously hit lives of the Cuban people.

The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Kitts and Nevis, David Rivero Pérez received Mr. Michael Davis, new President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of this Federation, and the Executive Member Kevin Taylor; at the diplomatic headquarters, to follow up on trade and cooperation issues that are being worked on.

Friendship Organizations of Vietnam express solidarity with Cuba

The president of the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and ambassador, Nguyen Phuong Nga, affirmed that the people of Vietnam will always be side by side supporting the Cuban people.

Phuong Nga reaffirmed the position of the VUFO during a meeting with the Cuban ambassador, Orlando Hernandez, whom she visited to deliver a donation of one thousand euros from said organization to help compensate for the damage caused by the devastating fire that broke out weeks ago in the supertanker base in the province of Matanzas.

Cuban government sends messages of congratulations to the elected Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel M. Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent a message of congratulations on behalf of the Cuban people and government, to the Prime Minister of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr Terrance Drew.

Cubans in Vietnam trust that Matanzas will overcome misfortune

Cubans living in Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam expressed their confidence that Matanzas will overcome the misfortune caused by the fire at the supertanker base located in that city.

In a note issued today, the Cubans said they felt with deep sorrow the material and human damages caused by the fire of great proportions unleashed there more than 72 hours ago by a lightning strike on one of the gigantic crude oil deposits.

Vietnamese leaders extend sympathy to Cuba over oil tank explosion

Top Vietnamese leaders have sent messages of sympathy to their Cuban counterparts over severe losses caused by a massive blaze in an oil storage facility in Cuba’s province of Matanzas on August 5.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on August 7 cabled messages of sympathy to First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

Cuba reaffirms its unreserved support to the “one China” principle 

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba states its firm rejection to the actions aimed at harming the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the People’s Republic of China; condemns interference in its internal affairs, and emphasizes its concern over the increasing tensions and further deterioration of the situation concerning Taiwan as a direct result of the aggressive policy and high military presence of the United States and its allies in the Taiwan Strait, military contacts and regular sale of weapons, actions all that undermine peace and international and regional peace.
