UNESCO roundtable addresses african and afro-descendant cultural heritage with cuban participation

Addis Ababa, January 28, 2026.- Within the framework of the African Union's 2025 Theme, “Justice for Africans and Afro-descendants through Reparations,” the roundtable “Restitution, Cultural Rights and the Right to Memory: From Africa to Latin America” was held, organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ethiopia and the International Organization of the Francophonie.

Diplomatic meeting reaffirms cooperation between Cuba and Burundi

Addis Ababa, January 23, 2026.- The Ambassador of Burundi to Addis Ababa, Willy Nyamitwe, paid a courtesy visit to his Cuban counterparts, the Ambassador of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, and the Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez, reaffirming the spirit of reciprocity and friendship that characterizes relations between the two nations.
