Ethiopian-Cuban voices recover the history of a generation educated in Cuba

Addis Ababa, December 20, 2025.- We reunited with our Ethiopian-Cuban brothers and sisters, this time immersed in the creation of a new audiovisual project aimed at telling the story of their years of study in Cuba. This initiative is led by Ethiopian filmmaker Henok Mebratu, who seeks to recover, through a human and testimonial perspective, the lived experiences of a generation shaped by cultural exchange, solidarity, and academic training between both peoples.

Addis Ababa, December 18, 2025.- At the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Ethiopia, Yeison Arcadio Meneses Copete, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, participated as a speaker in the International Conference on South-South Cooperation and Justice for African and Afro-descendant Peoples, held within the framework of the CELAC–African Union High-Level Forum.
