US Military Deployment in the Caribbean Sea Threatens the Region Under Absurd Pretexts
Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Cuban Government strongly rejects the current deployment of United States military forces in the Caribbean Sea. This dangerous action represents a serious threat and an aggressive show of force against the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it ignores the commitment of the 33 Member States of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States when they proclaimed the region as a Zone of Peace.
Embassy of Cuba congratulates the people and Government of Ethiopia on the arrival of the New Year
Addis Ababa, August 28, 2025.- In an emotional message broadcast by Ahadu Radio, the Cuban ambassadors accredited in Ethiopia, Meylin Suárez Álvarez (Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia) and Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo (Ambassador to the African Union), extended warm greetings of congratulations to the Ethiopian people and Government on the occasion of the celebration of the Ethiopian New Year 2018, to be held on September 11.

Addis Ababa, August 11, 2025.-The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba in Ethiopia, Natalys Dinza, signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of Ghana in Addis Ababa to express, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Cuba, our deepest sorrow for the tragic air accident that claimed the lives of the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as other distinguished authorities of the brotherly African nation.
Cuban Deputy Prime Minister visits key technology centers in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, July 29, 2025.- As part of his participation in the Second Stocktaking Moment of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4), Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister, Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, visited two of Ethiopia’s most prominent technology institutions: the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII) and the Information Network Security Administration (INSA).
