Vice President Mercedes López Acea thanks the Ghanaian people for their solidarity with Cuba

The Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba, Mercedes López Acea, presided over an Act of Solidarity with Cuba at T-Havana Parks Center, located in the city of Tema.

The Cuban Vice President, who makes an official visit to the Republic of Ghana, acknowledged the expressions of affection received since her arrival, reiterating Cuba's commitment to that brother and supportive people. She also thanked the support of the Ghanaian people in the historic battle for the lifting of the blockade.

As part of the work agenda developed in Ghana, the Vice President of the Council of State, Mercedes López Acea was received by the former President of the country, Jerry John Rawlings.

Both personalities, in a pleasant atmosphere, recounted elements of the history of bilateral relations between both countries; the figure of the leaders of the Cuban Revolution was highlighted.

The Vice President of the Council of State, Mercedes López Acea, and the delegation that she leads were received at the "Kotoka" International Airport of Accra by the acting National President of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Freddie Blay.

In the homeland of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the Cuban leader will hold meetings with the country's President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Also, she will meet with the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Michael Ocquaye; the former President Jerry John Rawlings and the current NPP leader.

President of the Private Universities Student Association of Ghana reaffirms interest in ties with Cuba

Mr. Shaibu Dawud, President of the Private Universities Student Association (PUSAG) paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Cuba, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González, with whom he addressed the provision to strengthen ties with Cuba.

The President of PUSAG, after thanking the reception, had words of praise for Cuba, highlighting the support that the Antillean archipelago has given to the formation of young people of his country.

Minister of State for Tertiary Education of Ghana will participate in University 2018

Professor Kwesi Yankah, Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, received the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Mr. Pedro Luis Despaigne González at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education.

Professor Yankah, will travel to Cuba heading the delegation of his country that will participate in the XI International Congress, "University 2018".
