'Miracle' eye care programme set for January resumption.

Kingston, 30 October 2022 (Horace Helps from the Jamaica Observer). ALL being well, the 'Miracle Operation' Jamaica/Cuba Eye Care programme should be up and running again by the start of 2023.

The popular programme — sponsored, manned, and managed by the Government of Cuba — was suspended at the height of the novel cornavirus pandemic in 2021, and medical personnel returned to their homeland after years of treating thousands of Jamaicans with acute eye challenges.

Kingston, 28 October 2022. Members of the Cuban state mission in Jamaica gathered this afternoon, 28 October, in the area known as "Kingston Malecon" to pay tribute to Camilo Cienfuegos, on the 63rd anniversary of his physical disappearance. The activity was presided over by the Cuban Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez and the coordinators of the health and education brigades Dr. José Armando Arronte Villamarin and Reynel Isalgué Isalgué.

Kingston, 27 October 2022. Students from S. Patrick's Primary School visited the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica this morning.

The visitors discussed the life and work of our National Hero José Martí and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. They showed interest in the national symbols and attributes; as well as in the functioning of the Cuban health and education systems and the noble work carried out by Cuban collaborators in both sectors. They enjoyed the story "Nené Traviesa" and a cartoon by Elpidio Valdés.
