Sports meeting held in Laos as part of the Fidel Castro Centenary Day

A group of enthusiastic friends who graduated in Cuba were preparing to hold a sports meeting as part of the celebration of the centennial of the Commander in Chief, the historic leader of the Revolution. His invaluable support for the development of fraternal and supportive relations was evident on the ground, where we remember his influence on the training of Laotian professionals in the sector, who graduated from Cuba.

Vientiane August 15, 2025. The Embassy of Cuba was represented alongside high leaders of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the sports marathon organized in the capital to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the founding of the Constitution.

Cuban Ambassador to Lao PDR celebrated the 75 anniversary of the LFND

Vientiane, August 15, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Enna Viant Valdes, participated in the ceremony for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Lao Front for National Development, formerly the Lao Patriotic Front, Neo Lao Hak Xat, on August 13, 1950. By historical coincidence, our historic leader, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, had been born 24 years earlier.

Cuban First Deputy Foreign Minister Expresses Unwavering Solidarity with Laos

Vientiane, July 25, 2025. Cuba's First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), Gerardo Peñalver, today expressed the strong bonds of solidarity that unite his country and Laos, two nations that, he said, share a very close relationship.

This unwavering solidarity dates back to the early 1970s, when our doctors arrived at the Viengsay caves to care for the Laotian people. It is also reflected in Laos' unwavering support for Cuba in its condemnation of the United States' economic, financial, and commercial bloc, he emphasized.
