Cuba and Lebanon united by history
Beirut, April 18, 2020. The historic brotherly relations between the peoples of Cuba and Lebanon are known to all. This time we want to share a passage from our history that proves it.
After Batista's coup d'état on March 10, 1952, Fidel was forced to leave his apartment in Vedado and take refuge with friends and acquaintances. One of the places where he lived was a house in Guanabo, owned by a member of the Cuban People's Party (Orthodox). Fidel was in a difficult economic situation and had loans in various establishments in the area.
Cuban Ambassador participates in the meeting of Latin American Heads of Mission with Prime Minister Hassan Diab
Beirut, March 12, 2020. The Cuban ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, participated together with Latin American Heads of Mission, in a meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
The officials discussed the situation in Lebanon and the government plans to get out of the current crisis and revitalize the country's economy. Also was discussed about the economic potentialities in Latin America and the Caribbean for the development of economic and commercial relations.
Cuba and Lebanon expressed their interest in establishing cooperation in the field of health
Beirut March 11, 2020. At the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of the Lebanese Republic, Minister Hamad Hassan received the Ambassador of Cuba, Alexander Pellicer Moraga.
At the meeting was ratified the interest in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation mechanisms in the health sector and the production of medicines. The possibility of exchanging experiences between professionals from both nations was also analyzed.
Member of the Lebanese Parliament reaffirms its support for Cuba against the blockade
Beirut, February 20, 2020. Cuba's Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, had a cordial meeting with Osama Maarouf Saad, a member of the Lebanese parliament and Secretary General of the Nasserist People's Organization.
During the meeting, was examined the political situation in Lebanon and Cuba and was reaffirmed the will to continue developing and strengthening bilateral parliamentary and partisan relations.
President of the Lebanese Parliament receives the Ambassador of Cuba
Beirut, February 20, 2020. The President of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, at the Palace of Ain El Tineh.
During the fraternal meeting, both parties recognized the good state of bilateral relations and expressed the will to continue strengthening the links between the respective Parliaments, while highlighting the collaboration they have in different forums and multilateral events.
