Spanish Town, Jamaica, 10 de enero de 2020. The José Martí Technical High School, located at Spanish Town, celebrated the 43rd Founders Day Anniversary with the presence of its students, teachers and a delegation of graduates. The ceremony was also attended by officials from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Jamaica, led by Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, who was the Guest of Honour.
This morning Ambassador Carmelina Ramírez Rodríguez signed the condolence book opened at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Harare, for the assassination of the Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani, during the United States bombing of the Baghdad airport in Iraq.
In the message, the Cuban Ambassador strongly condemned what happened and transferred the Cuban government's rejection to unilateral and unjustified aggressive actions by the United States government, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the countries.

Despite measures implemented by the United States government since the end of 2017, intended to limit bilateral relations between the two countries -including the suspension of consular services in Havana; the expulsion of 17 diplomatic officials from our embassy in Washington, using unjustifiable and politically motivated pretexts; and recently the suspension of flights to nine destinations in Cuba - ties between the émigré community and the homeland have not been eliminated.
