Kingstown, January 17, 2020. The XXVI Meeting of the CARIFORUM Council of Ministers was held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with the presence of delegates from the more than 15 Caribbean countries that comprise it.
Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of this nation, Sir Louis Straker, the meeting was a propitious moment to review the joint work agenda and the progress of the post-Cotonou agreements reached.

The Cuban Mission in the Kingdom of the Netherlands hosted this afternoon a group of students and professors from the Medical School of Leiden University (LUMC), who visited Cuba last October as part of the Global Health Cuba program, which is held in our country every year.

Rodríguez recalled that during 2019 the Second Cuba-European Union Joint Council was held and the first cycle of political dialogues concluded under the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation.
He also stressed that both sides continue to advance economic-commercial and collaborative ties.

The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo, visited the city of Linz, capital of the region of Upper Austria, where she was received by the Mayor, Mr. Klaus Luger.
Both authorities exchanged information on the political-economic situation of Cuba and Linz respectively and evaluated the possibilities of strengthening the existing economic and cultural ties.
In the presence of Ambassador Loipa Sanchez Lorenzo, the Cuban stand was inaugurated at Vienna´s International Tourism Fair “#Ferien-Messe Wien”, which takes place in the Austrian capital from January 16 to 19, 2020.
The event is the most important of its kind organized in Austria to promote international destinations. It is held annually with large number of exhibitors and visitors. In this edition, more than 800 exhibitors from 80 countries are represented.
The Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González received at the Cuban embassy in Accra, a delegation from the Private Universities Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG), headed by its President, Mr. Alswel Annan.
The Ambassador in his welcome remarks highlighted PUSAG’s working relationship with the embassy, emphasizing in the participation of one delegation of that student organization in the representation of Ghana in the May First International Brigade, which completed a solidarity program in Cuba in 2018.
