Russian tourist arrivals in Cuba increase by 30% in 2019

Havana, January 17, 2020. In spite of U.S. sanctions imposed on Cuba in 2019, further tightened since the beginning of this year and directly impacting tourism, the country is committed to develop the sector, with significant results including a 30% increase in the number of Russian visitors as compared to 2018.

Of the more than 4.3 tourists who had arrived as of December, 178,000 were Russian, a number expected to reach 200,000 in 2020, according to Cuba’s ambassador in Moscow, Gerardo Peñalver.

The process of normalization with emigration is continuous, irreversible and permanent

From April 8 to 10, 2020, in Havana, the 4th will be held. Tehran, January 16, 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to Iran, Alexis Bandrich Vega, held a fraternal meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Tehran, S.E. Ambassador Mr. Chang Hua.
In a relaxed and cordial environment, as it characterizes the relations sustained by both peoples, which this year reaches its 60th anniversary, the ambassadors exchanged on aspects of the international and regional agenda, and congratulated themselves on the excellent state of bilateral relations, as well as for the historical, solidarity and deep cooperation that the two countries maintain.

Ethiopian Prime Minister congratulates his Couban homologue

On behalf of the Ethiopian government and people, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed congratulated his newly elected Cuban counterpart, Manuel Marrero.

 

In his message, Mr. Abiy Ahmed, who was recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, also reiterated his conviction that the future we will witness the strengthening of cooperation between Ethiopia and Cuba, for the mutual benefit of both brotherly peoples and extended its wishes of prosperity for the Cuban people.
