Toronto, August 25, 2019.- Last Saturday, the 24th edition of Toronto-Cuba Friendship Day was held in this city, which was held in the city's Mayor's Office. The celebration was organized by the Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto (CCFA-Toronto), the Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto "Juan Gualberto Gomez" and the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network.

The Ambassador of Cuba, Alexis Bandrich Vega was received this morning by the Vice Minister for the Development of Professionals and Sports Championships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani, who highlighted the historical ties of brotherhood and cooperation that both countries maintain, as well as the willingness of his ministry to expand cooperation to multiple areas and sports disciplines.
A 24-hour translation service is helping improve clinical care and reducing delays at Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Cuban Hospital.
Over 2,000 patients benefit from the translation service every month. The service which was launched last year aims at improving communication between Arabic-speaking patients and Cuban health professionals working at the hospital.
