On March 15, 1978, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz announced in a speech that the Somali invaders withdraw from the Ethiopian territory and proclaimed the jointly victory of the Ethiopian and Cuban troops.
Today, we commemorate the 40th anniversary of that historical chapter. It is a moment to appreciate the participation on the events of thousands of Ethiopians and Cubans and particularly to celebrate the lives of the 163 Cubans and many Ethiopians fallen during the military campaigns.
Addis Abeba. The females within the Cuban and Ethiopian staff of the Embassy of Cuba in this country were recognized on the occasion of March 8th : the International Women´s Day.
The First Secretary of the diplomatic mission, Mr. German Acosta highlighted that for a second occasion in the history of the relations between Cuba and Ethiopia, the Cuban Embassy in this country is headed by a female.
Margarita island, March 16th, 2018 – the ministerial segment of the XXIII Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States took place in the state of Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, on the 16th of March, 2018 and gave continuity to the process of revitalization of the organization.
The "Declaration on the Impact of Disasters in the Greater Caribbean Region" and the "Declaration of Solidarity with the Member States and Associate Members of the ACS affected by the natural disasters occurred in September 2017" were approved.
The Cuban children, residents of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, participated with their parents, Embassy officials, collaborators and Vincentian personalities, in commemorating the 140th anniversary of the Baraguá Protest, one of the essential pages of the country's history, which defines many of the distinctive features of the Cuban nation: rebelliousness, firmness, courage and fidelity to principles.
NASSAU, March 16th, 2018.- Different manifestations of Cuban culture were present at the 14th Edition of the Foreign Languages Day, an event that takes place every year at the University of The Bahamas.
Organized by the Faculties of Communication and Creative Arts, the meeting counted with the representation of cultural expressions from different countries, which were of the attraction of students, professors and other guests.
