Wellington. – As part of her visit to New Zealand, Leima Martínez Freire, director of Asia and Oceania at the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP for its Spanish acronym), convened a meeting with members of the Cuba Friendship Society in Wellington and exchanged on diverse topics, such as Cuban current affairs, its foreign policy and other international matters.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, arrived in Havana on Wednesday afternoon, and was received at Terminal No. 1 of the “José Martí” International Airport by Rogelio Sierra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.

As part of his official visit to the island, the President of Ghana will meet with Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers.

The duo of Cuban guitarists composed by Eduardo Martin and Ahmed Dickinson Cárdenas will offer a concert in the emblematic room "The Rotunda" of the Hotel Landmark, in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan.

The concert entitled "Sones y Flores", will include 19 songs composed by Martín himself and corresponds to the tour that the talented musicians perform in Europe at this moment.

On the morning of today, Cuban Ambassador Carmelina Ramirez made a courtesy visit to the president of the Senate, the honorable Mabel Chinamano. During the meeting there was talk about the historical relations between Zimbabwe and Cuba, Cuba's assistance to Zimbabwe in important areas such as health and education, with the training of young zimbabweans in Cuban schools since the 80s, and future areas in which they can work as Sports and Tourism.

Beirut, March 31 (Prensa Latina). The General Secretary of the Lebanese Communist Party, Hanna Gharib, said today that it is a duty to defend Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela in their confrontation with the United States.

Gharib issued that criterion during a meeting with the president of the international relations commission of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba (parliament), Yolanda Ferrer.

OTTAWA.- Business leaders are warning that the Trump administration's threat to tighten the U.S. embargo on Cuba could sideswipe Canadian companies that are doing business on the Caribbean island.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce says it is worried that the United States could enact a never-before-used section of the 1996 Helms Burton Act that would allow Americans to sue foreign companies linked to Cuban properties that were confiscated after its 1959 revolution.

The cordial meeting served to exchanged on the potencial cooperaction between Cuba and the AU in various fields based on the MOU signed by the two parties in 2015.

The AU Commissioner acknowledged the historic cooperation of Cuba to Africa including the support for the independence and sovereignty of some nations.
