OTTAWA.- Business leaders are warning that the Trump administration's threat to tighten the U.S. embargo on Cuba could sideswipe Canadian companies that are doing business on the Caribbean island.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce says it is worried that the United States could enact a never-before-used section of the 1996 Helms Burton Act that would allow Americans to sue foreign companies linked to Cuban properties that were confiscated after its 1959 revolution.

Commissioner of Social Affairs of the AU confers with the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Abeba.  The Commissioner of Social Affairs of the African Union, H.E. Ms. Amira Elfadil received the Cuban Ambassador to the AU, H.E, Mr. Angel Villa.

The cordial meeting served to exchanged on the potencial cooperaction between Cuba and the AU in various fields based on the MOU signed by the two parties in 2015.

The AU Commissioner acknowledged the historic cooperation of Cuba to Africa including the support for the independence and sovereignty of some nations.
