Cuban Ambassador signs condolence book at New Zealand Parliament

Today in the afternoon, the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, attended the New Zealand Parliament, to sign the book of condolences opened on the occasion of the terrorist attacks that occurred in Christchurch.

The Cuban diplomat reiterated the message made public by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla a few hours after the tragic attack was known, echoing Cuba's condemnation of all terrorist acts, methods and practices.

CENESEX work highlighted at ILGA World Conference 2019

During the first day of the ILGA World Conference 2019, leaders and delegates of this organization expressed their respect with the work deployed by the National Center of Sexual Education (CENESEX for its Spanish acronym) in the attention and follow-up to the topics of interest of the LGBT+ community in Cuba.

The ILGA World Conference 2019 was inaugurated this morning in this capital, with the presence of activists from all over the world, including an outstanding presence from Latin America and the Caribbean.

Cuba satisfied of results in Abu Dhabi Special Olympics Games

Eleven medals in Special Olympics

The delegation of Cuba to the World Games of the Special Olympics, which ended today, satisfied part of this Emirati capital for having done the homework with 11 medals and receiving recognitions from hosts and other participants.

 

The 11 medals won by the Cuban delegation at the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi are proof of the spirit of human solidarity inspired by the Revolution.

The Cuban athletics team obtains excellent results in the 2019 Special Olympics World Games

The Cuban athletics team gave a superb performance at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi 2019, where its 4 members won 1 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze, as well as a 4th and 7th places.

The athlete Irina López García won a Gold medal in Long Jump and a 7th place in 100 meters.

Runner Mandy Yoiniel Mojena Valdés won silver medals in 400 and 800 meters.

For his part, the sprinter Roberto Fernandez won the Silver Medal in 100 meters and the Bronze Medal in Long Jump.

Cuba was among the nations present at the cultural gala for the national holiday "Novruz" carried out by the University of Languages ​​of Azerbaijan.

Under the title "La Multicultural Fiesta Novruz", the event was attended by the diplomatic corps accredited in Baku, teachers and students of this high center of studies.

The rector of the university, academician Kamal Abdulla, in his inauguration words highlighted that the gala was a sample of the tolerance and multiculturalism that Azerbaijan offers to foreigners.

Havana, March 2019. Received by Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, the Hon. Mr. Finian McGrath, Minster of State, ratified the good state of the bilateral relations between Ireland and Cuba, which commemorate its 20th anniversary this year.

Mr. McGrath was also received by Cuban Minister of Health José Angel Portal Miranda, where they exchanged experiences on the functioning of both health systems and evaluated possible cooperation issues between the two countries.

41 anniversary of the Karamara victory

Addis Ababa, 15 March.  The 41st anniversary of the victory in the Karamara battle was conmemorated in this city by the Cuban and Ethiopian communities.

The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, H,E. Vilma Thomas and the President of the Friendship Association Mr. Abebe Ayelew highlighted in their respective remarks the importance of the jointly victory in yhe Ogaden that secured the preservation of the sovereignty and teritorial integrity of Ethiopia against the Somali invasion.
