Cuba deposits instrument of ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

New York, 20 June 2019.Cuba deposited today the instrument of ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. With this step, Cuba reaffirms its commitment to the elimination of ozone-depleting substances, a fundamental goal of the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment. The Cuban government has been a signatory to the Montreal Protocol since 1992 and has been eliminating a group of important substances ever since.

Director of Sub-Saharan Africa makes an official visit to Mauritius

The director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Gisela García, made an official visit to the island of Mauritius from this Monday, June 17. During this visit, which lasted until June 19, Gisela held fruitful meetings with different officers of the Mauritian chancellery and ministers of this insular country, such as the Minister of Youth and Sports Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs , Dwarka Canabady, as well as the Director of Multilaterals, Rakesh Bhuchory.

Inaugurated the 4th edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival of Harare

This Monday was inaugurated in Harare, the IV edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival. This event is organized by the embassies of Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Cuba as a way to show and spread our film industry in this area of the world. This year the venue was the REPS Theater, with the support of the Harare Film Society. The film presented was "Campeones", Spanish film that monopolized laughs and applause in all the public, guaranteeing once again the success of this Festival. The Cuban film will be exhibited on Saturday, June 22, closing this edition of 2019.

Cuba and the Emirates strengthening collaboration links

Mr. Khalifa Alqubaisi, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), received Ambassador Jorge León Cruz, who delivered a letter from Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources and member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, addressed to SE Mohammed Saif Al Suwaiti, General Director of ADFD, for a visit to Cuba.

Cuban Doctors, Embedded in Belizean Hearts and Culture

Cuban Doctors and nurses have become a permanent part of the Belizean medical landscape - and right that they should because they have been here for 28 years.

That's right, Cuba has been sending medical personnel to Belize since 1990. and, right now, there are 87 Cubans serving in the Belizean health sector.

And, this week in Havana, Cuba Health Minister Pablo Marin honored them at an event held at a celebrated art gallery and community center.
