Library in Auckland receives Cuban books donation

Auckland.- As part of its close relationship with the Letras Latinas library, the Cuban Embassy made a book donation covering a diverse group of topics. 

Letras Latinas is a community library based in Auckland, the only institution of its kind in Romance languages, associated with ALAC (Aotearoa Latin America Community), which in turn offers social services to the Latin American community in New Zealand.

It seems to be a perfect timing for this action, given the fact that ALAC will be soon celebrating their 25th anniversary.

Ambassador of Cuba offers a conference at the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs

Auckland.- Organized by the the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) in Auckland, the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray made a presentation in which he addressed, among other topics, the vision of Cuba on current issues on the international agenda, such as the situation in Latin America and the aggressive escalation of the US Government, revealed in the strengthening of the economic, financial and commercial embargo on Cuba.

Belize Attends 6th Annual CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting

Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte headed to Guyana today where he is scheduled to participate in a top-level diplomatic conference between CARICOM foreign ministers and Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodriguez Parilla.  The Sixth Annual CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting is being held in Georgetown on June fourteenth.

Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago receives Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla

Port of Spain, June 12. - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, on Wednesday, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of this Caribbean nation, Dr. the Honorable Keith Christopher Rowley, as part of the official visit to this country.

During the cordial exchange, both parties reiterated the will to continue strengthening the historic relations between the two countries and ratified the interest of expanding political, cultural, economic-commercial and cooperation ties.

Cuba Hosts Conference on US and Hemispheric Affaiers.

Havana, June 12, 2019.Conference on studies about US and hemispheric affaiers has opened this Wednesday at Havana University (UH) with a program that includes a panel on the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.

The event, hosted by the UH's Center for Hemispheric and U.S. Studies, is attended by Cuban and foreign analysts, historians, and researchers, the organizers said.

The conference includes presentations on Cuban American political attitudes, President Donald Trump's strategy for Africa, as well as US-Latin American-Cuban relations.

Eusebio Leal Says Helms Burton Harms Cuban Sovereignty.

Havana, June 11, 2019.The historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, affirmed on Tuesday that the application of Title III and IV of the Helms Burton Act on May 2 harms Cuba´s peace and sovereignty.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Leal highlighted the absolute and strict rejection of all the illegal, extraterritorial and immoral measures taken by Washington government against the island.

'This act not only threatens Cuban peace, but also that of all the peoples of the world,' he expressed.

National Chairman of the ruling party in Ghana receives the Ambassador of Cuba

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González paid a visit to the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), where he was received by his National Chairman, Mr. Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay (Freddie Blay).

The meeting, held in a relaxed atmosphere, allowed to review issues of bilateral interest, and led to progress in future actions that will strengthen relations at the level of party, government and society in general.

The New Patriotic Party is currently the main political party in the country; it is in power since January 2017.

Friends of Cuba in Australia demand the end of the blockade in front of the US Consulate General in Perth

Canberra, June 12, 2019. Members of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) in the State of Western Australia gathered at the US Consulate General in the city of Perth, in an act of protest against the measures implemented by the current US Administration to strengthen the blockade against the island.

With banners of "Down with the Helms-Burton Act" and "Lift the US blockade on Cuba", the demonstrators carried out a noble gesture of solidarity with Cuba which they intend to maintain with a monthly frequency in the future.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba will visit Santa Lucia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, will begin a visit to a group of  Caribbean countries on Tuesday, including Saint Lucia,  Trinidad and Tobago, the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and Barbados. He will also head the delegation that will participate in the VI CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting, to be held in Guyana on June 14.
