Ambassador of Cuba signed a the book of condolences for the demise of former President of Vietnam, Le Duc Anh

SRI LANKA, May 8, 2019. - The Ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, signed on behalf of the Cuban people and government, the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of Vietnam for the demise of the former president, Le Duc Anh.

A great friend of Cuba, he visited our country in October 1995 and was received by the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.

Roseau, May 8, 2019. A meeting to discuss issues related to the "Agreement of Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Cuba and the Ministry of Housing and Lands in the Commonwealth of Dominica, for the Constructive Recovery in the Commonwealth of Dominica ", signed on June 14, 2018, was held in the afternoon of yesterday, May 7, 2019, at the seat of the government of this country. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba, Ulises Arranz Fernández and the Head of the Builders Brigade that works in Dominica, Mr. Juan Antuch Suarez. On behalf of Dominica, Ambassador Steve Ferrol, Secretary of Cabinet Prime Minister's Office, was present.

Despite the Helms Burton Act, Cuba grows and will continue to grow

Petroria, May 8, 2019.- Despite the declared intention of the government of the United States to economically suffocate Cuba and only days of the full activation of Title III of the Helms Burton Act, which is what codifies the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Cuban people; there have been events that demonstrate the firm international rejection of these measures. Plans Against Cuba, Venezuela are Interfering, Díaz-Canel Denounced.

Havana, May 8, 2019. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said today that US plans against the Caribbean island and the Venezuelan people are perverse and highly interfering.

'Pronouncements by officials of the US Government against Cuba and Venezuela, have the same objective and are part of the perverse, arrogant and interfering Monroe policy of the North', the Head of State wrote in his Twitter account.

'Nations with dignity will defend independence and sovereignty,' he added.

U.S. citizens want to visit Cuba, despite the tourism ban and travel restrictions imposed by their government.

La Habana, May 8, 2019. The U.S. tourist sector remains committed to Cuba as a holiday destination, even as the U.S. government is tightening the blockade against the island. This was stated at a press conference by Michel Bernal Quicutis, commercial director at the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur), who assured that “We will not give up on reaching the planned 5,100,000 visitors for this 2019.”

La Habana, May 7, 2019. Members of Cuban civil society, intellectuals, journalists, and students gathered on May 3 in Havana, in a public hearing convened by the Association of Cuban Jurists and the Cuban United Nations Association to discuss the activation of the Helms-Burton Act’s Title III, a law that violates the principle of sovereignty, and seeks to destroy our nation and subordinate it to the power of a foreign government.
