Kuwait, Oct. 11, 2016. Cuba's ambassador in Kuwait Andres Gonzalez Garrido met with Naser Alhayen , Director of International Organizations of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.

During the fraternal meeting they referred to the satisfactory state of relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest both in bilateral as in multilateral levels.

Trade delegation from Jamaica to participated at FIVAH 2016

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, October 11, 2016. Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Bernardo Guanche Hernandez, met with members of this country’s trade delegation to the upcoming International Fair of Havana 2016 FIHAV 2016.

The fruitful meeting, held at the venue of the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), was also presided over by Berletta Forrester, General Manager of Commercial Development at this important institution from the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.

The Cuban delegate to the Sixth Committee Tanieris Diéguez Lao offered today great importance to the item: “The scope and application of the principle of universal jurisdiction”, at the time she reiterated Cuba’s concern for the inappropriate use of this principle in the unilateral, selective and politically motivated exercise of jurisdiction by tribunals in developing countries’, against natural or legal persons, from developing countries, without coming from an international norm or treaty.

The Permanent Representative of Cuba to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, demanded the immediate and unconditional lifting of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States against Cuba for over 50 years, during his speech at the General Debate of the 83rd Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which is in session from October 11 to October 14 in The Hague, Netherlands.

Banjul, October 10, 2016.- Gambian newspaper Daily Observer published an extensive article in his Commentary section entitled "US embargo leaves Cuban farmers waiting for modernity", which assures that “nowhere in Cuba are the effect of the continuing US economic embargo more apparent than in the countryside, where farming cooperatives relay on outdated tools and processing plants can´t obtain spare parts”.
