At the First Committee Thematic Debate on Nuclear Weapons, the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Versón, reiterated that the existence of over 15,000 nuclear weapons, 4,000 of them ready to be deployed, cannot be justified and is unacceptable and urged to eliminate, once and for all, the role of nuclear weapons in military doctrines and security policies.

New York, 17 October 2016. The United States Government issued a Presidential Policy Directive on Cuba and announced a group of measures to modify the application of some aspects of the Embargo, which will come into force on Monday, 17 October.
The directive is a significant step forward within the process towards the lifting of the Embargo and the improvement of the relations between the United States and Cuba.

International Conference on Minors Protection” to be held at Palco Hotel, Havana, Cuba, from May 24th to 26th, 2017. It will gather professionals and technicians interested on the topic, aimed at promoting the exchange of experience.

Trinidad and Tobago Chancellor Dennis Moisés spoke on the high-level segment of 71 sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, in which he pronounced for the prompt and definitive lifting of the Blockade against Cuba, which he considered an obstacle to the sustainable development of Cuba.
The words of the trinitario chancellor come to ratify the historical position of the support of the Eastern Caribbean country against the Blockade.
