Nueva York, 3 November 2016. “Cuba reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to the improvement and effectiveness of the work of the Committee, by means of comprehensive processes of deliberation, consultation, negotiation and collaboration among its Members, and promoting the active participation of other States.”, considered today at the Sixth Committee, the Head of the International Law Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, cra. Anet Pino Rivero, under Agenda item: ““Report of the Committee on Relations with the Host Country”.

CUBAN AMBASSADOR RECEIVED BY MR. MAXWELL CHARLES, DIRECTOR OF REGIONAL INTEGRATION OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF SVG

Cuba's Ambassador was received by Mr. Maxwell Charles, new Director of Regional integration of the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Trade and Regional Integration of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

During the fraternal meeting, the parties addressed themes, linked to the cooperation of the two countries in the frame of them international and regional organizations, both in the flat political as economic.

Third Meeting of Cuban Residents held in Iran

Convoked by its Embassy in Tehran, Cuban residents in the Persian nation attended the third annual meeting held at the headquarters of the diplomatic mission.

 

The activity began with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the intervention of the Counselor in charge of Consular Affairs, Rebeca Fernández Núñez, who presented the program of the day and provided an update on the status and composition of the small Cuban community in Iran.

 

Press Release/71 UNGA: Cuba on “Developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security”.

New York, 1 November 2016.In general statement on draft resolution L.17: “Developments in the field of information and telecommunications in the context of international security”, the delegate of Cuba to the First Committee, Lilianne Sánchez Rodríguez, pointed out that Cuba shares the concern contained in document L.17 as regards the use of technologies and means of information with purposes inconsistent with international stability and security.

New York, 1 November 2016. At the Third Committee on Agenda item “Elimination of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance: general implementation of and follow-up to the Durban Declaration and Program of Action”, the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Vilma Thomas urged to place greater emphasis on addressing this issue in its manifestations and potential impact, both by the States and the United Nations agencies dealing with this and other related issues.

Cuba participates in the International Training Program on Bioenergy Development

Indonesia, November the 1st, 2016. Dr. Alfredo Curbelo Alonso, an official of CUBAENERGIA and Senior professor at Higher Institute for Technology and Applied Sciences, represented our country in the International Training Program on Bioenergy Development that took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from the 26 of October till November the 1st.

UNIDO and Cuba promote partnership at 2016 International Fair of Havana

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Cuba held a joint presentation on the Country Programme Framework (CPF) 2016-2020 at the 34th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV), consolidating their cooperation towards inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Cuba.

The CPF, signed by UNIDO and the Cuban government in December 2015, is a key tool for building the foundations for ISID in Cuba, and includes a total of 19 projects, with three of them currently being implemented.
