Oslo, May 30, 2022. Leovanys Ávila Góngora, member of the Secretariat of the Central Workers´ Union of Cuba (CTC), participated today in the opening session of the XXXV Congress of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO).
Peggy Hessen Følsvik, President of LO, delivered the keynote speech. Raymond Johansen, member of the Labor Party and chief of the Oslo City Council, also made a statement. Representatives of some international trade union organizations invited to the event also took the floor for delivering their messages.
Cuban trade unionist arrives in Norway
Oslo, May 29, 2022. Leovanys Ávila Góngora, deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power and member of the Secretariat of the Central Workers’ Union of Cuba (CTC), arrived in Norway this afternoon.
After being received at Oslo-Gardermoen airport by Morten Hovda, from the International Department of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), Ávila Góngora met the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, who welcomed him and explained details of the program.

Oslo, May 25, 2022. The Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, held a meeting with Mr. Tore Villard, member of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian company The Island Rum Company AS.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and Mr. Villard exchanged information about the origins and progress of the joint venture Ron Vigía S.A., established in 2020 between the Spanish company Island Rum Brands SL, a subsidiary of The Island Rum Company, and Zerus, society sponsored by the Cuban sugar business group AZCUBA.
Ambassador attends meeting with Norwegian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Development and Nordic Cooperation
Oslo, May 18, 2022. As part of the program of activities organized for the Diplomatic Corps to mark the celebration of the Norwegian National Day on May 17, the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, attended a meeting with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt, and of International Development and Nordic Cooperation, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.
In the meeting, Minister Huitfeldt made a speech in which she addressed the main lines of Norwegian foreign policy in the current international context.
