Statement by the Cuban delegation on item 77 of the Report of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law on the work of its 56th session.

Cuba considers that the creation of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) allowed developing countries to participate more actively in the harmonization, modernization and unification of international trade law.

In the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, we recognized that eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development. We are determined to free humanity from the tyranny of poverty, committing ourselves to end hunger, achieve food security as a matter of priority, end all forms of malnutrition and leaving no one behind.

In fact, the regular budget provides some tools to help get back on track with the SDGs.
