Tribute to women held at the Embassy of Cuba in Saint Lucia

A vast group of women, representatives from different sectors of Saint Lucian society made an appointment yesterday Tuesday, March 12th at the Embassy of Cuba in this country, in order to celebrate International Women’s Day. Among the prominent Saint Lucian women present stood out the former Governor General, Dame Pearlette Louisy, the Honorable Minister of Health and Wellness, Senator the Honorable Mary Isaac and Lady Janice Compton, widow of Sir John Compton, who was Prime Minister of Saint Lucia and considered as the father of its independence.

New Ambassador of Cuba presents Letters of Credence to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States

The Presentation Ceremony for the new Cuban Ambassador took place at the Office of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States, located in Saint Lucia; he delivered his Letters of Credence to the Director General, Dr. Didacus Jules, which accredit and confirm him as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Organization. In his welcome remarks, the top dignitary of the distinguished authority of the Eastern Caribbean gave a warm fraternal welcome to the Cuban diplomat and highlighted the traditional friendly relations with Cuba.

The Executive of the Saint Lucian Guild of Graduates of Cuba held a work meeting yesterday, February 27th, in which they analyzed the main actions and activities which will be carried out during the present year.

Cubans in Saint Lucia ratify their support for Venezuela

The collective of the Cuban State Mission in Saint Lucia, headed by Ambassador Alejandro Simancas, has ratified their support for peace and their rejection to military intervention in the Bolivarian nation by joining the “hands out of Venezuela” campaign. The Cuban representatives in Saint Lucia were at the Embassy of Venezuela to express their solidarity with the Government and people of that country and to endorse the call to end the interference and imperialist plans of destabilization and aggression.
