Oslo, October 30, 2024. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway invited the Cuban Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, to a farewell visit as the end of her mission is approaching after four years of intense work for the development of the relations between the two countries.

Yesterday, coinciding with the voting at the United Nations General Assembly on the draft resolution entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, which was finally approved by an overwhelming majority of the member States, a group of friends gathered in the 7th of June Square, located just in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to condemn the implementation and strenghtening of that unjust and criminal policy.
Oslo, October 27, 2025. Bárbaro Maikel Mendoza Muñoz, a fellow national who has been living in Norway for several years, was among the participants in the XVII Meeting of Cubans Residing in Europe (ECRE), which took place in Rome, Italy, from October 24 to 26.
As a dancer deeply identified with Cuban culture and traditions, Bárbaro Maikel also participated in the IV Cultural Festival "Cuba Va Conmigo", held within the framework of the Regional Meeting, with a dance dedicated to Elegguá. (Embacuba Norway)

On October 23, 2025, in response to a formal extradition request and following a decision by the Cuban government, Chinese national Zhi Dong Zhang was transferred to the authorities of the Government of Mexico.
Mr. Zhang had been detained in Cuba on July 31, 2025, for offenses committed on Cuban territory, namely forgery of documents and human trafficking, as defined under the Cuban Penal Code, and was held under provisional detention.

A group of students of Spanish language from Ulsrud Videregående High School, accompanied by their professor Lars Øvergaard, visited the Embassy of Cuba in Norway, where they were received by the Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, and the Second Secretary, Daffne Ernesto Miraba García, as part of the activities in the framework of the Cuban Culture Days.
