Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Cuba has been warning about the growing escalation by the United States government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which clearly seeks to overthrow the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and establish a servile government willing to surrender Venezuela’s oil, key natural resources, and national sovereignty to the United States.
Oslo, October 1, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, held a friendly meeting with Odd-Jarl Gerhardsen, editor-in-chief of Friheten, the newspaper of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), just days before his departure for Havana to participate in the Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-Wing Parties and Movements, which will take place from October 15 to 17.
The right to self-determination is a fundamental right for all peoples under the UN Charter. The UN Charter of Economic Rights and Duties of States confers on all countries the right to peaceful trade with other countries.
Copenhagen, October 4, 2025. The Nordic Meeting in Solidarity with Cuba kicked off with the participation of 30 representatives of solidarity organizations from nine Northern European countries. It will run until the 5th in the Danish capital. The meeting brings together presidents, vice presidents, and board members of friends of Cuba committees in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Representatives from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Germany are also taking part.
Oslo, October 3, 2025. The staff of the Cuban Embassy in the Kingdom of Norway joined the signature collection process taking place in Cuba in support of the Revolutionary Government's Declaration “It is Imperative to Prevent a Military Aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”.
