Cuba present at the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism in Lebanon

Ambassador Jorge P. Leon Cruz participated in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism during the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union, organised by the Russian Embassy in Beirut.

At the moving ceremony, where Russian Ambassador Alexander Ruvaok gave the keynote address, tribute was paid to the more than 27 million Soviet soldiers who gave their lives in a struggle that represented not only a national tragedy and a heroic triumph for the peoples of the former Soviet Union but also a decisive contribution to the salvation of mankind from fascism.

Cuba and Lebanon advocate development in the tourism sector

The Lebanese Minister of Tourism, Laura El Khazen Lahoud, received Ambassador Jorge P. León Cruz, and held a fruitful meeting where the interest in continuing to work for the development and cooperation in the tourism sector between Cuba and Lebanon was confirmed.

Both sides reviewed the excellent level of bilateral relations and welcomed the commendable work being done by both countries to promote the development of mutually beneficial tourism.

León Cruz, participated in the celebration of the International Day of the Spanish Language held at the Modern Institute of Lebanon (IML) of the International French Lycée and, together with other Latin American ambassadors, received a plaque for the commemoration, presented by Mr. Maroun Khalite, director of the Lebanese high school.
