The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Communist Party congratulates the leadership of the Cuban government and the Communist Party of Cuba for the decision signed by U.S. President Biden to remove Cuba from the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism, after a political campaign and international popular solidarity of which our party was part.

Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

On January 14, 2025, the government of the United States announced the following decisions:

1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism;

2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and

Lebanese Foreign Minister sends message to his Cuban counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Lebanese Republic, Abdallah Bou Habib, sent a message to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, expressing appreciation for the congratulatory message received on the occasion of the eighty-first anniversary of Lebanon's independence.

The message reflects the spirit of solidarity and the solid relations between the two countries and reaffirms the commitment to continue strengthening the distinguished ties between Lebanon and Cuba.
