Vientiane, August 10, 2022. Renewed expressions of sympathy and solidarity are reiterated in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, this time its highest representative, the Secretary General of the People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, expressed his endearing  friendship and deep regret to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel, on the occasion of the unfortunate accident that occurred at the super tanker base in Matanzas, on August 5, which caused loss of human life and severe material damage to the Cuban government and people.

Vientiane August 6, 2022. The vice president of the National Assembly, president of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association and president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba Dr. Chaleun Yiapahoeu, and on behalf of the people of Laos, sent a message of sympathy and solidarity to the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (CAP) Fernando Gonzalez Llort and to the president of the Cuba-Laos Friendship Association, Regla Angulo Pardo, on the occasion of the disaster caused by the fire at the super tanker base in Matanzas.
