Members of the Cuban Embassy together with ACFS-Canberra join the Campaign “From Australia to Cuba with Love”
Canberra, 2 June 2024. Members of the Cuban Embassy joined the “From Australia to Cuba with Love” Campaign, together with members of the Canberra branch of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS).
Participants walked 20 km from the Cuban embassy headquarters to the Old Parliament in Canberra. One group rode bicycles, others by car and one participant rode a motorcycle.
The campaign “From Australia to Cuba with Love” has begun
Brisbane, 1 June 2024. The third edition of the campaign “From Australia to Cuba with Love” began this 1st June and will run until 26 July 2024.
The campaign, coordinated by the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society (ACFS) against the U.S. blockade of Cuba, also seeks to raise funds to donate to projects on the island.
Participants in Brisbane braved the threat of rain and launched the campaign this Saturday at the city's Botanical Gardens.
Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles received the Cuban Ambassador to Australia
Canberra, 31 May 2024. The Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles received today the Cuban Ambassador to Australia at the Australian Parliament.
During the meeting, the diplomat thanked the support for the Motion against the Blockade introduced in the Australian Parliament, as well as discussed the possibilities of development of Bilateral Relations between Cuba and Australia in the framework of the commemoration of its 35th Anniversary and other issues of common interest.
Construction, Forestry and Maritime Workers Union (WA branch) issues statement demanding the end of the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism
Canberra, May 30, 2024. The Australian Construction, Forestry and Maritime Workers Union (CFMEU), Western Australia branch, issued a statement demanding the end of the blockade and the removal of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
The CFMEU (WA branch) expressed that “more than 60 years of economic and financial blockade has seen billions of dollars lost directly impacting the economy of a small country in the Caribbean”.

Cuban ambassador participates in event on traditional Thai costumes
Canberra, 30 May 2024. Cuban Ambassador Tanieris Diéguez participated on a Thai traditional costumes event at the Thai Embassy in Australia.
The activity allowed an approach to Thai culture and traditions.
The ambassador thanked her Thai counterpart for the invitation.
