Statement delivered by the Republic of Cuba at the Security Council Emergency Meeting on the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela. 5 January 2026
Mr. President,
Since September last year, Cuba has been denouncing the United States’ hegemonic and criminal plans, and its aggressive actions against Venezuela and the region. We have clearly exposed the serious and unpredictable consequences of the U.S. government’s irresponsible behavior for the political, social, and economic stability of Latin America and The Caribbean, and for international peace and stability in general.
Take to the streets in defense of Venezuela
Statement from the Cuban chapter of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity, REDH-Cuba.
The aggression that some denied has entered a new chapter. The United States has launched a military attack on the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Taking advantage, with their characteristic cowardice, of the early hours of the morning in Caracas and the first days of the year, they carried out their actions against the people and claimed innocent victims on January 3, 2026.
Statement by the International Relations Committee of the National Assembly of People's Power
The members of the International Relations Committee of the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba express our strongest condemnation of the military aggression by the United States government against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
We urgently call on parliamentarians around the world to demand an end to this criminal attack, which violates international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and all norms of civilization.
