Cuba in Austria

Hands off Cuba!

ZdA newspaper of the PdA

Havana/Washington. Donald Trump's announcement to cut off Cuba's access to Venezuelan oil and financial support is the logical continuation of US policy toward Cuba for more than six decades. Economic pressure, blockade, threats of destabilization: none of this is new. The only thing new is the brutality with which this policy is being carried out.

Message from the President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez

They have no moral authority to point fingers at Cuba in anything, absolutely anything—those who turn everything into a business, even human lives.

Those who today hysterically lash out against our nation do so sick with rage over the sovereign decision of this people to choose their political system.

Message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla

Cuba neither receives nor has ever received monetary or material compensation for any security services it may have provided to any country.

Unlike the #US, we do not have a government that engages in mercenary practices, blackmail, or military coercion against other States.

Speech by Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, at the ceremony honoring those who died in Venezuela as a result of the United States' aggression

Cuba comes to pay an emotional tribute to the Cuban combatants who, in unequal combat, faced the imperialist enemy that desecrated the sovereignty of the Venezuelan homeland and protected Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros.

Honor and glory to the combatants who fell in unequal combat. Love and peace to the Venezuelans murdered by the imperialist horde. We express Cuba's deepest solidarity with the brave Venezuelan people.

Statement delivered by the Republic of Cuba at the Security Council Emergency Meeting on the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela. 5 January 2026

Mr. President,

Since September last year, Cuba has been denouncing the United States’ hegemonic and criminal plans, and its aggressive actions against Venezuela and the region. We have clearly exposed the serious and unpredictable consequences of the U.S. government’s irresponsible behavior for the political, social, and economic stability of Latin America and The Caribbean, and for international peace and stability in general.
