Cuba reaffirms support for Venezuela from Zimbabwe

Harare, September 30, 2025 – The Cuban State Mission in Zimbabwe today reaffirmed its support for Venezuela in the face of US threats with the signing of the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government in Solidarity with the Homeland of Hugo Chávez.

Diplomats and members of the educational and medical brigades signed the statement in this capital and the cities of Bulawayo and Bindura stating that "It is urgent to prevent a military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela" in light of the escalating actions by the United States government to justify it.

Far from the Homeland, but united

Ottawa - This September 27th, Cuban residents in Canada celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), together with the staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Canada.

As is customary on this date, the celebration was accompanied by dominoes, popular Cuban music, and the traditional streamers and caldosa (a type of stew), indispensable during this national holiday.

Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba and executives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of St. Kitts and Nevis hold a working meeting.

During the meeting, the intention of both parties to move forward in strengthening joint work with possibilities in various sectors, was confirmed. In that connection, the diplomat shared information about Cuban exportable products and services. Likewise, he extended the invitation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba to the local business community, to participate in the next Havana International Fair, to be held from November 24 to 29, 2025, as another alternative for exploring new possibilities for commercial exchange.

Cuban Ambassador and UNESCO Representative weigh in on collaboration for Development

Harare, September 25, 2025 - The Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, and the Director and Representative of the UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa, Nisha, today discussed the application of science, technology, and innovation for the development of nations.

During a courtesy meeting, Pérez Mesa updated the Caribbean island nation on the priorities of government programs in science, innovation, and technology and discussed with Nisha the opportunities for cooperation on projects in this African country.

The Herald Zimbabwe publishes call to lift US blockade of Cuba

Harare, September 24, 2025 – The Herald today published a call for international solidarity in Zimbabwe demanding the immediate lifting of the US blockade of Cuba, which has lasted more than 60 years.

The african nation's leading newspaper reflected Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa's call for global support in the context of the upcoming vote in the United Nations General Assembly on the resolution demanding an end to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the Caribbean island.

Supplies and medical equipment donated to Trinidad hospital

A valuable donation of medical supplies and equipment was received at the Tomás Carrera Galiano Hospital in the municipality of Trinidad, thanks to the noble work of the Juan Gualberto Gómez Association of Cuban Residents in Toronto.

After the arrival of the container, the reception and classification of the 900 packages took place. They contained expendable materials, forceps, syringes, catheters, surgical drapes for the operating room, beds, wheelchairs, as well as an autoclave.

100 Years with Fidel from Zimbabwe

Harare, September 22, 2025 – Members of the Cuban Embassy and the Medical Brigade in Zimbabwe today, in the centennial year, paid tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, before the monument that bears his name in this capital.

 

The commitment to the homeland and the daily fulfillment of the tasks assumed are the best consideration and contribution to the celebration of "100 Years with Fidel," emphasized Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa.

 

Ties that unite

Ottawa – As part of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Canada, the Cuban Embassy hosted the exhibition “Ties” by the renowned Cuban visual artist Michel Mirabal Martínez, who was present at the event.

In his welcome remarks, the Cuban Ambassador, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, introduced Mirabal and recalled activities carried out this year commemorating the first eight decades of bilateral ties.
