The recent indictment of Cuba’s ex-President Raul Castro by the United States is telling. What is critical is for the Global South, in particular, to know that everything happening is interconnected and aspects of this nature cannot be interpreted in isolation.

Cuba’s sovereignty is ‘non-negotiable’

Harare, June 9, 2026 – The 40th anniversary of Cuban medical cooperation with Zimbabwe was marked today with a moving celebration in the capital, attended by the Minister of Health and Childcare, the Honorable Douglas Mombeshora, and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Elio Rodríguez Perdomo.
Harare, June 8, 2026 – Cuba today denounced the doctrine of "peace through strength," promoted by the United States government, as a violation of the UN Charter and international law.
On June 6 and 7, the 12th Biennial Convention of the Canadian Network on Cuba (CNC) was held in the city of Toronto. Representatives from more than 20 solidarity organizations that are members of the CNC attended, along with invited friends from other organizations.
London, 3 June 2026. A group of British MPs, peers and trade union leaders gathered outside the UK Parliament to express their firm rejection of the Trump administration’s escalating hostile actions against Cuba. They also called for a public stance of opposition to any threat of military intervention.
Toronto, June 2, 2026. The Faculty of Natural Sciences at York University hosted the conference “Solidarity Without Borders,” an event dedicated to Cuba and, in particular, to the achievements of its National Health System. The activity brought together professors, students, members of the Cuban community residing in Toronto, and representatives from various sectors of Canadian society.
Solidarity with Cuba was on full display in Montreal.
United by their love and solidarity for Cuba, various organizations, solidarity groups, and Cuban residents gathered in the Canadian city of Montreal to welcome Cuba’s new Consul General, Yamari Pérez, and reaffirm their support for the Cuban Revolution.
