Annual gathering 2018 of Cuban residents in Denmark

The annual gathering of Cuban residents in Denmark took place in Odense on 2 June. The Cuban Ambassador, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas and the Consul, Ares Valdés Acea, attended the meeting where participated more than 100 Cuban residents and their families, including their descendants from different regions of the Nordic country. In this context, a video about the main activities developed between 2017 and 2018 was screened. The Cuban consul provided an update on the migratory policy and emphasized on the importance to support the struggle against blockade from any place in the world.

Cuban Ambassador in Copenhagen visits UNICEF Supply Division

On May 29, the ambassador of Cuba in Denmark Yiliam Gómez visited the the Supply Division of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which is headquartered in Copenhagen. The Cuban diplomat was received by the Director of the Division, Dr. Etleva Kadilli, accompanied by other officials of that entity. Dr. Kadilli, who recently visited the Finlay Institute of Vaccines in Cuba, appreciated the development achieved by the Caribbean country in the research and production of vaccines.

The newspaper Arbejderen in its edition of May Day published the interview to the Ambassador of Cuba in Denmark, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas, about the increased presence of  women in the new legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power. The ambassador explained that the Cuban Parliament is composed for the first time in its majority by women, that with 322 women among its 605 members, they represent more than 53 percent.
