The Grenada- Cuba Friendship Association expresses our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Cuba as you confront once again another adversity especially in these extremely difficult times.
As you battle to extinguish this horrific fire at an oil depot in Matanzas caused by natural circumstances we mourn with you, the deaths of those who perished and pray for a speedy recovery for those who were injured in this unfortunate incident.

MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE FOLLOWING EXPLOSIONS IN MATANZAS, CUBA
St. George: August 9, 2022: The Government of Grenada extends deepest condolences to the Government and people of Cuba following extensive explosions at an oil facility in the province of Matanzas, Cuba.
We are especially saddened by reports of loss of life, and express heartfelt sympathy to our brothers and sisters in Cuba at this difficult time, particularly those in the affected areas who have experienced the devastation firsthand.

The 26th July is indelibly inscribed in the annals of Cuban history because this day marked a turning point in the struggle against the tyranny, oppression and corruption of the Batista regime in Cuba. On 26th July 1953, led by Fidel Castro, his brother Raul and many other valiant young Cubans, they decided to attack the Moncada Barracks, the largest military headquarters of the Batista regime in Santiago de Cuba province, an attempt to overthrown his government and his reign of terror on the Cuban people.

The Cuban Ambassador receives the new Foreign Minister of Granada.
July 25th, 2022. - The Ambassador, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, received on the night of July 22 the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development of Granada, Joseph Andall.
At the headquarters of the Cuban residence, the Ambassador ratified the Foreign Minister's willingness to continue advancing in the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Grenada and Cuba for the benefit of both peoples.
