Cuban doctors travel to Jamaica to fight COVID-19

This Saturday, 140 members of the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disasters and Serious Epidemics left for Jamaica to join this country’s fight against SARS-CoV-2 virus.

March 9 in the morning, the Counsellor of the Embassy of Cuba, Mr. Ricardo Calvo, and the Vice President of the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica, Mr. Osvaldo Cárdenas, paid a courtesy call on Beverly and Joseph Manley, ex-wife and son, respectively, of former Prime Minister of Jamaica and a great friend of Cuba, Michel Manley.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Jamaica receives Cuban Ambassador
Kingston, Jamaica, 6 March 2020. Ambassador Marcia Gilbert-Roberts, CD, Permanent Secretary and Head of the Foreign Service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, received the Ambassador of Cuba to this Caribbean nation, H.E Mrs. Ines Fors Fernández, at the Ministry´s headquarters.
During the meeting, the parties addressed issues of the bilateral agenda, including Jamaica's historical support for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US Government on Cuba.
